DPP Day 14: Spare nativity, anyone?

We need a new one. The cardboard version that I found at a garage sale years ago has done us well for a while, but thanks to many small hands, the figures can no longer stand. What we have looks like a there has been revelling, which just doesn't seem right for a nativity.

Or it might be interpreted as a blood bath, which may not be far from the truth, as Jack (aka the Ripper) has been on what seems a random but systematic rampage, decapitating the cast and crew while our backs are turned. Joyeux Noel.

Yesterday, alas, it was the camel.

Most worrying of all is that the baby Jesus has gone missing. Perhaps, by some happy miracle, he will turn up on Christmas day?

  1. Get your kids to make their own nativity. You can use pretty much anything, Lego, clay, toilet rolls (really!), origami, etc.

  4. I recognise that nativity! I found the template on the internet a few years ago and I've used it a few times, but it's never lasted more than one Christmas!

  5. we have a "little people" nativity which is very popular with our kids (was given as gift from Nan and Gramps a few yrs back) ... if you don't mind picking up Mary from behind the freezer and watching the donkey as the angel on the top of the stable;) they are virtually unbreakable (and trust me if they survive us they survive anyone;) Oh and if the 'away in a manger' song drives you crazy after a while maybe you can try and tape up the off button on the back;) We love ours:)
